
Thermal Water Contraindications
It is rare that thermal spa techniques cause health problems in clients.
It is nonetheless important to stress that undergoing thermal spa treatments is not advisable in some circumstances in order to avoid a deterioration or upset in your state of health - the centre’s medical doctor is responsible for making final decisions in this respect.
The temporary nature of some of the health conditions set out below means that treatment at the spa can be received after the problem is resolved, but must always be conducted under strict medical supervision.
- Any serious illness that causes significant deterioration and reduces the body’s response capacity.
- Malignant tumours.
- Convalescent periods following serious illness, post-operation or recent admittance to hospital.
- Heart conditions: heart attacks in the last 12 months or chest pains in the last 6 months.
- Recent strokes.
- Phlebitis in the last 3 months.
- Severe or uncontrolled blood pressure.
- Acute infectious diseases (respiratory, digestive, urinary, etc.). Active tuberculosis.
- Fever.
- Serious kidney or liver insufficiency or serious blood disease.
- Serious mental illness that impedes collaboration.
- Open wounds or skin ulcers (apart from exception), fungal diseases.
- Acute stages of any illness except eczema or backache.
- Patients using catheters.
- First and last three months of pregnancy.
- Children under three.
